Siemens also presented an entry-level software package for 3D visualisation of computed tomography (CT) examinations. As an example, syngo.via now includes new applications for mammography reading and complex examinations in neurology, oncology, and cardiovascular diagnostics. This new version features expanded mobile applications as well as enhanced functionality and additional applications. * syngo.via can be used as a standalone device or together with a variety of syngo.via-based software options, which are medical devices in their own rights.Siemens Healthcare has announced the new version (VA20) of its routine 3D and advanced reading software syngo.via, which was on display at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in Chicago. The first product release of syngo.via was in 2009, since then the set of applications and capabilities of syngo.via is continuously extended and enhanced. The diagnostic applications use different imaging algorithms for analysis, offer specific tools for body regions and dedicated analysis interactions, create application or lesion specific measurements while sharing common image manipulation concepts such as zooming, windowing, and panning. Main focus of variability is on creation of different advanced diagnostic applications and the various underlying image data types created by different modalities. Further commonalities are integration capabilities, workflow control, serviceability, and data browsing and storing capabilities. The product offers a common user interface for all applications reducing the training and learning efforts of its users.
